Di dalam suatu keranjang terdapat 12 apel, dua diantaranya diketahui busuk. Jika diambil 3 apel secara acak (random), maka peluang tepat satu diantaranya busuk adalah ....

Jawab
S = pengambilan 3 apel sekaligus

$n(S)=_{12}C_{3}=\frac{12!}{3!(12-3)!}=\frac{12!}{3!.9!}$
$n(S)=\frac{12\times 11\times 10\times 9!}{3\times 2\times 1\times 9!}=220$

Misal kejadian terambil 2 apel baik (A) dan 1 apel busuk (B) adalah K ,
n(K) = n(A) x n(B)

$n(K)=_{10}C_{2}\times _{2}C_{1}$
$=\frac{10!}{2!(10-2)!}\times \frac{2!}{1!(2-1)!}=\frac{10!}{2!.8!}\times \frac{2!}{1!.1!}$
$n(K)= \frac{10\times 9\times 8!}{2\times 1\times 8!}\times \frac{2\times 1}{1}=90$
$Peluang kejadian K : P(K)=\frac{n(K)}{n(S)}$
$P(K)=\frac{90}{220}=\frac{9}{22}$
$Jadi\, peluang\, terambilnya\, 3\, buah\, apel,\, tepat\, satu\, diantaranya\, busuk\, =\, \frac{9}{22}$
